Welcome to the journey of Boksburg Community Church (BCChurch), where history meets the present in a story of faith, resilience, and community. Our roots trace back to the beginnings of Boksburg Wesleyan Church over fifty years ago. Through the years, we've seen highs and lows, moments of joy and challenges, but through it all, our commitment remains firm: to glorify God in all we do.
Founded in 1962, Boksburg Wesleyan Church began its mission under the guidance of dedicated pastors like Rev. Winston Callaghan and Rev. James Ramsay. Each pastor brought their unique vision and dedication, contributing to the growth of our spiritual community. Despite setbacks, and changes in leadership, our church persevered, guided by the belief that God's work endures.
In 2013, a new chapter began with a name change to Boksburg Community Church and the installment of Rev. Shaun Botha and his wife Gail as senior pastors. Facing challenges with humility and faith, they led BCChurch through a period of growth and transformation. Rev. Rhyno and Lyndene du Plessis, our current pastors, joined the journey in 2016, bringing fresh energy and vision to our community.
Embracing the digital age, BCChurch launched a YouTube channel in 2019, expanding our reach and sharing the message of hope beyond our physical walls. As the Covid-19 pandemic swept across the globe in 2020, our community faced unprecedented challenges. Yet, we adapted, finding new ways to worship, connect, and serve. From livestreamed services to innovative outreach initiatives like the "Soup Bottle" outreach (which still continues today), we remained steadfast in our mission.
Today, BCChurch stands as a testament to God's faithfulness and the resilience of our community. As we navigate uncertain times, we hold fast to our mission: Focused on Jesus and passionate about people. We invite you to join us on this journey of faith, knowing that with God, all things are possible.
As Psalm 127:1 reminds us, "Unless the LORD builds a house, the work of the builders is wasted. Unless the LORD protects a city, guarding it with sentries will do no good." In everything we do, we trust in God's guidance and provision, knowing that He is the foundation of our church and the source of our strength. Welcome to Boksburg Community Church, where together, we glorify God and serve our community with love and compassion.
